Polish Highlanders Axe – Ciupaga

This Highlander-style ciupaga is a handcrafted interpretation of one of the most recognizable traditional tools and symbols of the Polish Tatra region. Designed with the characteristic long shaft and compact axe head, this piece combines practical construction with the distinctive visual language of Podhale and the Polish Highlands.

The head is carefully polished to a bright finish, revealing clean lines and a striking contrast with the dark, richly finished hickory handle. The bottom of the head features a polished pick, adding both character and functionality to the traditional form.

On both sides of the axe head is an etched edelweiss flower, a symbol strongly associated with the alpine landscape of the Tatra Mountains. The floral engraving gives the ciupaga a distinctly regional identity while adding a handcrafted decorative element to the polished steel.

A leather collar beneath the head protects the handle and reinforces the transition between steel and wood. The ciupaga is completed with a handmade leather edge cover, providing safe storage and transport.
