The Arch Tomahawk – Vintage Finish

Some designs don’t need elaborate ornamentation to stand apart. The Arch Tomahawk is one of them. Defined by its flowing, sculpted profile and distinctive arched beard, this piece blends classic frontier influence with modern craftsmanship. Every line has been carefully forged to create a tomahawk that feels balanced in the hand while maintaining the unmistakable character that has become a signature of Paps Tomahawks.

The head is hand-forged from 1055 carbon steel and finished with a subtle vintage patina that gives it the appearance of a well-preserved heirloom carried through generations. The satin-polished edge contrasts beautifully against the aged finish, highlighting the clean geometry of the blade and emphasizing the craftsmanship behind every hammer strike.

The handle is crafted from carefully selected curly ash, bringing together exceptional strength with the lively, flowing grain unique to figured hardwood. Finished by hand and fitted with a rich dark stain, it complements the vintage steel while providing a secure and comfortable grip for display, collection, or light outdoor use.

Every Arch Tomahawk is individually forged, ground, heat treated, and assembled by hand in my workshop. No castings, no mass production—just honest craftsmanship shaped in fire, one piece at a time.

Whether displayed in a collection, carried into camp, or appreciated as a functional work of blacksmithing, the Arch Tomahawk represents the timeless appeal of traditional forged tools with a distinctly Papst Tomahawks character.
